A brief introduction to LXW FFC connector product line

The FFC connector has been shown in the LWX FFC product list and can be found in detail if you need it.

The following are some of the contents of the FFC connector product, you can understand the FFC series knowledge in three minutes: FFC product introduction, basic attributes of FFC products, main difference between FFC products and FPC, general specifications of FFC soft cable industry, common models of FFC products , FFC product spacing type, FFC connector application field. The following is the details:

Introduction of FFC connector

FFC is a flexible flat cable connector, a new type of data cable that is crimped together with PET insulation and extremely thin tinned flat copper wire by high-tech automated equipment line.

FFC connector basic properties

The difference between FFC and the same side: the FFC is flat, and the copper wire surface that can be in contact with the FPC is the same surface on the same surface; otherwise, it is a different surface.

Reinforcement plate:

In order to protect the soft copper wire from being inserted into the FPC and protect the copper wire from being broken during the insertion and removal, the thickened and hardened interface at both ends needs to be strengthened.

The main difference between FFC connector and FPC

FPC is a flexible print circuit. In terms of manufacturing, the way they are formed is different:

  1. FPC is a chemically etched FCCL (Flexible Copper Clad) process to obtain flexible single-sided double-sided and multi-layer flexible circuit boards.
  2. FFC is a flat copper foil sandwiched between two upper and lower layers of insulating foil film. The finished product is simpler and thicker.
  3. In terms of price comparison, FFC is much cheaper than FPC. Considering the production cost, more companies prefer to use FFC related design.

FFC soft cable industry general specifications

P × N × TL × TYPE × (S1/S2 / S3/S4) (CT × CW)

Screen  number  Total length  Model S1/S2: Stripping length S3/S4: Reinforcement plate length   Conductor thickness   Conductor width

For example: 0.5 × 45 × 300 × A (4/4/8/8) (0.035 × 0.30), which means 0.5mm pitch, 45-bit, total length 300mm, same direction, 4mm at both ends, The length of reinforcing plate  is 8mm, and the FFC flexible cable with the copper wire specification of 0.035*0.30 is used, and this specification is mainly applicable to the LCD liquid crystal.

FFC connector common model

Type A: the two ends are connected and the reinforcing plate is attached to the insulating tape;

Type B: The reinforcing plate is crossed and directly pasted on the insulating adhesive tape;

Type C: The reinforcing plates at both ends are directly pasted on the conductor;

Type D: type: the reinforcing plates at both ends crossed and are directly pasted on the conductor;

Type E: one end reinforcing plate is attached to the insulating adhesive paper, and the other end is directly soldered;

Type F: the reinforcing plates at both ends are directly attached to the insulating adhesive paper, and the inner half is peeled off;

Type G: Direct soldering at both ends.

The FFC connector spacing types are:

LWX has a wide range of FFC series products: eg 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.25mm and so on. You can check it out for details.

FFC connector application fields:

FFC connectors are mainly used in: printer connector and motherboard, plotter, scanner, copier, stereo system, LCD electronics, fax machine, DVD player and other products, various signal transmission and board connection. In modern electrical equipment, FFC connectors are almost ubiquitous.

Currently, the FFC connector family in LWX products includes a variety of high density wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors designed for automated assembly. If you need it, you can pre-register LWX website members, enjoy more benefits, and purchase multiple types of connector products.
